Primary Care – Bulk Billed MBS Telehealth Services



Temporary Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) and Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) items will allow doctors, nurses and mental health professionals to deliver services via telehealth, provided those services are bulk billed.


Why is this important?


The new MBS items will allow all medicare eligible patients access to essential health services in their home with the aim of reducing their risk of exposure to COVID-19 whilst in the community.

Who benefits?



The new medicare telehealth items have been made available to reduce the risk of community transmission of COVID-19 and provide protection for patients and health care providers.  All medicare eligible patients can arrange a bulk-billed telehealth consultation from their home.

Private Telehealth Consultations

Patients who are not eligible for a bulk billed telehealth consultation may schedule a private telehealth consultation with their family doctor.  Patients will not receive a Medicare rebate for these consultations.  Our friendly receptionists will provide further information regarding fees when confirming your appointment.
